It seems like beauty consumers are ready for more this Spring season—more of everything.

More value for their dollar, more ingredient innovation, more panache in their look and they are even up for more styling to achieve it, too.  We are up for the task at Philip Pelusi with several hopeful haircare predictions for Spring 2025.

We are seeing today’s savvy consumer looking for high quality, transformative ingredients and products.  And even if they prefer to streamline their purchasing, they are not swayed by price as long as they get an incredible product with great results.  But products and services must deliver, period.

We are also feeling that “back to business” attitude when it comes to our guests’ attitude toward recreated current trends for their own look.  Despite the last several years where style took a backseat, today’s guests are getting their style on craving customized blonde hued precision bobs with all the face framing bling they can get.

Chantilly Blonde

One of the prominent trends for Spring 2025 is Chantilly Blonde hair color.  Actress and trend setter Zendaya was one of the first to kick off this trend in late 2024, and we feel this look should continue well into 2025.  The look is a light warm blonde with subtle creamy undertones of vanilla and champagne to give this color a level of sophistication.  The blonde tones are bright yet soft.

The sunny months of Spring and Summer can make it tougher to hold onto color molecules, so to keep this blonde hue and all color services looking good we are focusing on much needed sun protective product recommendations.  This fits right in with the current consumer trend for sun protection products that contain additional beneficial, innovative ingredients to enhance the skin.  But we’ve always felt sun protective efforts should also be paralleled with sun protection for hair, giving guests what we refer to as an insurance policy for their hair color investment.  Our goal is to help protect the color itself while also improving the condition of sun exposed hair with proper hydration and protection.

This is our thought process behind our Tela Beauty Organics by Philip Pelusi Guardian Angel Solar Hair Serum.  It contains Sunflower Seed Extract—well known for its ability as a hair UVA/UVB sunlight protectant and stabilizer of synthetic hair color.  Plus we added Chlorophyllin, a naturally derived synthetic Chlorophyl derivative, that contains Copper at its core, making it water soluble and more bioavailable.  When combined in a haircare product these two protective powerhouses effectively turn off the damaging effects of UV, helping provide maximum protection of the hair fiber against color fadage and tensile strength degradation due to UV exposure while unique ultra-lux hydrating oils help replenish lost moisture due to sun exposure, heat styling and hair coloring.

We added 3 different types of weightless hydrating cold pressed oils for hydration, heat protection and shine.  Cold pressed, meaning they maintain their integrity and potency during processing.  USDA Certified Organic Quinoa Seed Oil penetrates the cuticle and cortex to smooth, strengthen and enhance hair.  Organic Quinoa, contains all 8 essential amino acids as well as Vitamin E helps create brilliant shine, hydrated stronger hair, reduced frizz and heat protection.  USDA Certified Organic Jamaican Black Castor Oil, rich with Vitamin E and Omega 9 Fatty Acids, adds incredible shine and moisture as well as anti-frizz action.

And USDA Certified Organic Plukenetia Volubilis Seed Oil, well known as Sachi Inchi Oil, rich in plant protein and Omega 3, 6 and 9 Fatty Acids to strengthen, hydrate and help with heat protection.  This incredible ingredient is also rich with hair protective antioxidants Vitamins A and E that help ward off environmental pollutants while helping slow the oxidative process that fades hair color.

Apply Tela Guardian Angel Solar Hair Serum to damp hair and scalp every morning prior to any other styling groom, similar to how one would apply a face SPF prior to cosmetics.  A dime to nickel size amount should do the trick, apply starting at the ends working up towards and including the scalp.

Italian Bobs

90’s style influences are still going strong in 2025, so bob haircuts aren’t going anywhere.  One of the most beautiful bob trends for this season is the Italian Bob.  This chin length, blunt cut bob has a sharp bottom line, equal distant from front to back.  The Italian Bob has minimal visible layering, yet has internal and perimeter layering to create movement.  No inverted angles or stacking gives this look a modern feel for 2025.

At Philip Pelusi, we wield the precision skills of our exclusive Volumetric The Pelusi Method Organic Haircutting System to create a custom haircut tailored to each individual guest.  And since we first created and launched our groundbreaking Volumetric cutting system in the early 1970’s, we are happy to see it is still ahead of the curve.  Especially now with what seems an increasing consumer interest in personalized AI generated haircut designs and product recommendations.

We’ve always felt our human approach to personalized hair designs and product recommendations works best.  We believe our Stylists understand the intricacies of the guests’ texture, density, growth patterns, fall lines, shape of the head, facial features and hair fabric type, and that should all be assessed.  And we feel this also works best for product recommendations too, taking into considering how much time, effort, energy and financial investment the consumer wants to make on their hair.  We also allow guests to exchange or get a product refund if they don’t feel they are getting results.

We are finding this longstanding approach is even more important today with our guests’ renewed desire to get the very best value.  Overall, we’re seeing guests be a lot more selective when purchasing products, cutting down on the amount or streamlining.  They’re happy to pay a higher price point as long as the product contains high quality ingredients and impactful innovation as well as being long lasting both on the hair and in the concentration level of the actual product.

Lastly, one almost universally loved product that is at the tops of our Italian Bob product recommendation list is our P2 by Philip Pelusi Potion Smart Styling Treatment.  This unique product is a combination weightless hydrating groom and UV protectant, which also further supports the enhanced summer sun protection guests are looking for.  And it’s perfect for the Italian Bob Trend because it’s weightless, no hold, feels like nothing on the hair finish gives the hair silky shine and moment.

P2 Potion is fortified with dynamic antioxidant herbal ingredients Matricaria, Asafetida, Blackberry, Grapeseed, Horseradish and Sage, all part of our Pelusi Hair Matrix Blend.  In addition, Guar Bean and USDA Certified Organic Baobab Seed Oil detangle hair like a dream.  Plus, our innovative Hydro Charged Pelusi Ceramide Complex (Ceramide II) and moisture binding phytokeratins, helps protect against heat damage throughout the styling process and gives today’s beauty consumer the innovation they are craving.  P2 Potion can be used as a standalone styling product on any texture.  Just apply a small dime to nickel size amount to damp hair prior to any other styling product then style as usual.

Face Framing Accents

Put the playful 1990’s updos worn by Reese Witherspoon, Drew Barrymore and Gwen Stephani into a time machine and viola’ we’ve got this eclectic hair crafting trend for this Spring, Face Framing Accents.  This look includes 90’s-esque “money” pieces framing left and right sides of face combined with a center part and a 90’s inspired spiked updo.  Or playful pieces from the hairline sculpted directly onto the face, into whimsical shapes such as spirals and curls.  Or any style bangs from long fringy to short micro bangs.  It’s all about adorning or framing the face.

So some products are in order to sculpt and shape these face framing accents.  If a slick but firm look is desired, we are recommending an ultra-firm gel such as our unique P2 by Philip Pelusi Hard Stuff Crystal Gloss and Groom—seven times stronger than gels on the market!  Much of this excellent hold results from its Calcium and Magnesium content in a delivery system in which these usually insoluble ions are solubilized via fermentation in the presence of Brewer’s Yeast, thereby creating a firm hold that requires less fixative polymer and results in less cosmetic weight on the hair.  P2 Hard Stuff can be used for any crisp finish face framing accent whether those details are styled with wet or dry hair.  And the bonus is its incredible Lemon Grass fragrance.

If a more flexible hold is desired, we’re reaching for our newly reformulated P2 by Philip Pelusi Honey Molding Beeswax.  This formulation is now Silicone Free and Vegan, containing the technological wonders, Synthetic Beeswax, Milk Thistle Ester and fortified with the Levan-based Prebiotic Vegan Honey substitute which actually surpasses the moisturization and heat protection benefits of our original P2 Honey formula.

Synthetic Beeswax, an alternative to natural beeswax, interestingly cannot be classified as “Vegan” as this terminology primarily pertains to food.  But bottom line, we are thrilled with its performance on the hair and our Stylists and guests agree.  P2 Honey maintains the silky smooth texture of natural honey but without the stickiness.  But this updated P2 Honey formula does not contain any actual honey but instead several Natural Sugars, one a prebiotic polysaccharide obtained from sugar cane.  These natural sugars mimic the benefits of honey increasing moisture retention, heat styling protection and creating shine.

Milk Thistle Seed Oil in its Ethyl Ester form contains lubricious and hydrating triglycerides that help provide a silky soft feel to the hair as well as weightless heat protection.  Plus, this Milk Thistle Oil derivative has antioxidative properties to help prevent color fadage, and when combined with our Hydro Charged Pelusi Ceramide Complex (Ceramide II) forms a delivery system to penetrates past hair’s cuticle layer, amplifying benefits as mentioned above.  We also added our signature White Tea and Thyme Fragrance to give this updated P2 Honey a light and lovely scent.

The change from “silicones” in P2 Honey to non-silicone alternates allows us to maximize its content and activity in a way not achievable with silicone bases.  All of these ingredients provide even better hydration, heat protection, and style ability to the hair.  And they give the product a much easier to work with smoother, creamier, and lighter texture while still delivering all the styling benefits P2 Honey loyal customers have come to know and love.

P2 Honey can be used on damp or dry hair, working slowly with fingertip amounts of the product to twist, scrunch, and piece out hair.  P2 Honey is a shapeshifter in that hair can be styled and restyled over and over again perfect for this Face Framing Accent trend.
